Paint a Mandala with a Tibetan Lama
Wednesday, May 4 - 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Lama Lhanang Rinpoche originates from Tibet and was selected as a young child to study and follow the path of Buddhism. His skills in art were a part of his gifts bestowed in this lifetime and a signal that helped lead him to an opportunity to move to the United States. Lama Lhanang Rinpoche is a spiritual teacher of the Nyingma Longchen NyingThig order of Tibetan Buddhism and travels throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico sharing teachings on meditation, Anu-yoga, art, Feng-Shui, and Tibetan medicine.
Although Lama Lhanang Rinpoche has been to Saratoga Springs many times throughout the years, this is the first time Saratoga Paint and Sip is hosting him and we are super excited to offer a mandala themed workshop. Mandalas are circular images that can bring peace of mind while creating them as they are a visual form of prayer. Some may be familiar with the elaborate sand mandalas that are created and promptly swept away beautifully illustrating the concept of impermanence. All participants will have the opportunity to be in the presence of this great teacher and ask any questions they may have and leave with their own customized mandala painting that can be used as a meditative visual aid for years to come. No experience or belief system is necessary.
